Represents nursing interests, concerns, and support in health care planning, training, and research. Participates in studies, consultative visits, and evaluative surveys within the range of Air Force Medical Service activities. Participates in developing and implementing command programs and technical inspections. Reviews, recommends changes, and develops policy and operational guidance pertaining to nursing or related areas such as case/disease management, health care integration, population health, disease/injury, or clinical informatics. Serves as advisor to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF, or command surgeon on nursing related issues. AFSC may be used for Nurse Corps officers assigned as medical squadron commanders. Makes recommendations to commanders on administrative matters concerning Nurse Corps officers and other nursing service personnel. Facilitates and participates in nursing research. Evaluates performance of nursing service personnel, nursing activities, standards of nursing care and nursing practice. Provides staff development programs for all levels of nursing personnel. Plans and directs assignment and training of professional and paraprofessional nursing personnel. Establishes, interprets and directs implementation of nursing policy. Evaluates qualifications and maintains functional control of Air Force Nurse Corps officers, enlisted nursing personnel, civilian nurses, and ancillary nursing personnel providing nursing care according to established scope of practice and applicable federal/state laws. I have also heard 68c learn more on the job than 68w. I have also heard 68c has a 60 AIT passing rate. I know 68cLPN and 68wNREMT education wise. I am currently debating between 68c and 68w. My goal after the army is to get an advanced paramedics degree. Directs nursing service activities within area of responsibility. I am currently 11b I plan to reclass to a medical mos. A minimum of 12 months as a Chief Nurse, Squadron Commander or Group Commander. Supports cross-functional collaboration to improve patient care delivery. Coordinates with and makes recommendations to staff agencies concerning nursing policies, plans and programs. Serves as Chief Nurse, Squadron Commander or senior staff officer. For any 68cs out there how long did you wait for a slot to open up and did you get any. I know its a highly sought out MOS but its the only one that offers me the most career wise. Plans, organizes, executes, and directs nursing care practices. How often do 68c slots come up In the process of enlisting in the reserves as a 68c and was wondering how often slots for this MOS come up for the new fiscal year.
